If you're a parent of young children, you know the mental load is heavy. There are endless logistics and tedious tasks.
As two working, busy parents, I found that I constantly felt behind trying to keep our family organized. I tried a paper calendar and google calendar. While each have their perks, trying to keep up with the multitude of daily tasks, kids activities, school happenings and our own social life, it was just too much.
I found Ohai.ai through an Instagram ad and was intrigued. The thought of an ai-powered assistant sounded nice, but would it work?
Nearly six months later, I can tell you I still use our Ohai virtual assistant daily and today I'm going to share how you can use it, too. Like any artificial intelligence, there is a bit of a learning curve. However, once you get the hang of it, it's a game changer.

I think what's important to note is that Ohai.ai does not replace a calendar. It simply makes keeping track of tasks and adding them to the calendar significantly easier.
In my opinion, Ohai.ai is the best AI assistant because you can create text reminders about upcoming events or things you need to do.

Ohai has so many features and functionalities. Plus, I feel like there's a new feature every week. I really like that in the text reminders Ohai sends, it will tell me new things it can do.

How I use Ohai.ai
I primarily use Ohai for calendar planning, task organization and last minute reminders. While Ohai has many other features, I've really mastered these three.
Calendar planning
I like to sit down once a quarter to, what I call, master plan the quarter. What are all of the big events coming up? Do I have the latest dates from the school calendar? I'll make a list of these and then outline:
Name of the event
Where the event is located
What time
Who's included
Since we have a nanny, some plans are for her to run the kids to activities and other social activities are for Matt & I.
You can easily text O (the nickname for Ohai) with the information above and it will easily add it to your calendar and your partner's calendar.
When I'm bulk planning, I have a slightly different approach. I have found the easiest way to plan many events at once with Ohai is type up a list of the events sectioned like I have listed above.
Then, I'll email or text the list to myself and send it to Ohai. Most of the time I send it individually, but you can also add events in bulk. I recently added in bulk with “welcome back to school” events. I copied the text directly from a parent chat and sent it to O!
Also, if there are events that require prep (ie: pick up the birthday cake), I'll set those reminders at the same time. Here's a great example:

Ohai will then add it to our calendars and here's what I'll follow up with: Now, set a reminder to pick up the birthday cake from Jewel on August 30th. Remind me the night before. No specific time set for pickup.
Task organization
Another thing I love is that Ohai can organize tasks. For example, to create a grocery list, you can simply tell O the items you need and they will compile the list for you. For example, you can say "Create a list called Weekend Grocery List."
You can continue adding to the list and also share it with family members. Creating lists with O helps to minimize the overwhelm and mental load. When something pops into my brain, I simply text O, and Ohai organizes it.
One of the reasons I've found Ohai to be so helpful is that I often ask how it can help me. Before I ask O to take on a new task, I will ask how to share the information.
If you're new to AI writing assistants or using Ai in general, this is a really helpful tip. Ohai will tell you if it can handle that task and if it can, it will also share the information it needs.
Last minute reminders
The other thing I love to use Ohai for is last minute reminders. Need to get a birthday gift for a party and don't want to forget? Text Ohai.
For example, my daughter needed lunch twice a week this last school year, so I asked Ohai to remind me those mornings before school to make her lunch. It saved me a few times from forgetting.
I also love it because Ohai can remind my husband instead of me. If you run the calendar in your home, you know exactly what I mean!
It's a lot on the organizer to constantly remind someone. With Ohai, I don't have to do that. It does it for me!
