How to Make a Raspberry Mojito with Club Soda or Sparkling Water
On a hot summer day, nothing beats the refreshing taste of a classic Cuban cocktail with a fruity twist – the Raspberry Mojito.
Bursting with sweet raspberries, fresh mint flavors, and zesty lime, this cocktail is sure to become your go-to drink for happy hour or any summer celebration.
Plus, it's easy to make with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand.
Get ready for this Raspberry Mojito to be your go-to relaxation mode drink this season. This is one of my favorite summertime drinks.
Not only is it delicious, but it’s light! I love a classic mojito recipe and always gravitate towards them on vacation.
With two little kids, vacations are not as frequent as they used to be, so cocktails on the patio will be my vacation. If you're a parent, then you know any time away from the kids feels like vacation!
I don’t know about you but after a long winter, I’m ready for cocktails on the patio. I love to make fresh cocktails and this raspberry flavor does not disappoint.
You can make this as a pitcher cocktail or individual cocktails. Plus, it's easy enough to make it an alcohol-free drink with club soda or sparkling water! See the recipe card below for modifications.

Which Bubbly Beverage is Best?
Between club soda, sparkling water, tonic water, and more, mixology can get a bit confusing. Are all types of fizzy water interchangeable in classic mojito recipes? Which type of bubbly beverage will work best for your drink recipe? Let's break down the flavor difference of each.
What is Club Soda?
Club soda is a type of carbonated water that contains added minerals like sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, and potassium sulfate.
Think of it like bubbly mineral water. These additives give club soda a slightly salty taste, which can enhance the flavors in various drinks, including cocktails like a mint mojito recipe.
Brands like Fever-Tree Club Soda are popular for their balanced mineral content, making them a common choice at the grocery store for mixing drinks like a Tom Collins or a Vodka Soda.
What is Sparkling Water?
Sparkling water, also known as carbonated water, is water that has been infused with carbon dioxide gas under pressure. Unlike club soda, it typically doesn’t contain added minerals, resulting in a cleaner and more neutral taste.
Popular brands include San Pellegrino, La Croix, and Topo Chico, which are known for their natural mineral content. Sparkling water is a great option for those who prefer a purer bubbly water experience in their drinks.
What is Tonic Water?
Tonic water is a carbonated water that contains quinine, giving it a distinct bitter flavor. It's often sweetened with cane sugar or artificial sweeteners.
Tonic water also includes other ingredients like citric acid and sometimes flavoring agents. It’s a key ingredient in classic cocktail recipes like the gin and tonic.
The unique taste of tonic water makes it different from both club soda and sparkling water, making it suitable for specific cocktails but not always a great way to make a mojito.
Which Bubble Water is the Best Base for a Mojito?
When making your own mojitos, the best base is often club soda due to its slightly salty taste that enhances the mint mojito recipe.
The mineral flavor in club soda provides a perfect balance to the sweet flavor of the cane sugar and the tangy lime slices. However, if you prefer a cleaner and more neutral taste, sparkling water is also a good thing to use.
Both options can create a refreshing cocktail, but club soda is typically considered the better choice for the classic rum cocktail. Just make sure you don't use ginger ale or ginger beer - that will change the flavor profile of a mojito completely!
Easy Raspberry Mojito Recipe
Light cocktail ideas
I love creating fun cocktails and saving ideas to my Pinterest board here. Once the weather turns, I start to crave light drinks and they're always easy to make with torani syrup.
While I wouldn't call myself a mixologist, cocktails are always easy when paired with Torani Puremade Zero Sugar Syrups. The flavors just mix so well with fresh ingredients. Two tablespoons of any flavor can make all the difference.
Torani Puremade Zero Sugar Syrups
Torani Puremade syrups always mix well for the best possible flavor, which is why they’re my favorite drinks. I love that you can make countless drinks with just one flavor that delivers the right hint of sweetness.
In fact, there are eleven different flavors of Torani Puremade Zero Sugar Syrups. Their syrups are available at retailers or you can always find them on torani.com here.
What's fun is Torani putting Italian soda on the map and made the world's first flavored latte. We always use Torani syrups for our lattes and coffee drinks. A while back, I made this Keto Bulletproof Coffee.
I've made countless recipes with Torani and they never disappoint! However, I will tell you, this is the best recipe I've created -- even Matt agrees.
Raspberry Mojito Recipe
When I tell you this recipe is delicious - I mean dangerously delicious! Plus, it's so easy to make that it's my new favorite cocktail for the summer. Typically, I don't gravitate towards fruity cocktails -- especially a raspberry cocktail, but this one is truly light and delicious.
I don’t know about you but after a long winter, I’m ready for a refreshing cocktail on the patio. I love to make classic cocktails and this zero-sugar raspberry flavor does not disappoint.
Using fresh ingredients really makes this cocktail delicious. While you can use frozen raspberries, I opted for fresh raspberries and mint. However, I did cheat and use lime juice instead of fresh lime or lime wedges.
Raspberry Mojito Ingredients:
1.5oz white rum
1 cup of club soda - I opted for a lemon-lime club soda
6 fresh raspberries (frozen works, too)
10 fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
2oz Torani Sugar-free Raspberry syrup
Ice cubes
Raspberry Mojito instructions:
In a cocktail shaker, muddle together fresh raspberries, mint leaves, and raspberry syrup.
Add light rum, fresh lime juice, and ice cubes to the shaker.
Shake well to combine all the flavors.
Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with ice.
Top with soda water for a refreshing fizz.
Garnish with a mint sprig, fresh berries and a slice of lime.
Enjoy your delicious Raspberry Mojito on a hot afternoon!
Making this classic cocktail is so easy! Simply put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, mix, pour into a serving glass, and you've got yourself a perfect cocktail for the summer. When sourcing your ingredients, don't forget to buy your Torani Puremade Zero Sugar Raspbery Syrup from torani.com here.
Raspberry Mojito Recipe Substitutions
If you want to be fancy, you can certainly muddle the mint; however, it's not a requirement. If and when you muddle, I would use a wooden spoon.
Also, you can swap in simple syrup or an agave nectar for the lime juice if you prefer your cocktails to be on the sweeter side.
If you opt for simple syrup or agave nectar, try to pair it with soda water to temper the sweetness. The raspberry, lime, mint flavor is delicious no matter how you create it!
This recipe would also work with Strawberry, Peach, Mango, or Coconut Torani Puremade Zero Sugar Syrups. A strawberry mojito is next on my list to try!
If vodka mojitos are more your vibe, simply switch out the rum for your favorite type of vodka. Raspberry vodka would add some extra sweetness!
Want to make a raspberry mojito mocktail? Skip the alcohol and adjust the amount of club soda based on your preference for the perfect virgin mojito.
